The Legend

History
Osiail Publishing, LLC was formed in 2007, with the goal of promoting
literary development in New Hampshire. While accepting submissions from
every possible source, Osiail Publishing gives preferential treatment
to submissions from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine residents.
New England is a part of the country that is steeped in old colonial tales
and fishermen lore, and muddled with some of the most controversial issues
of present day. Osiail Publishing is dedicated to presenting to the world
those stories concocted on cold autumn nights beneath a canopy of rainbow
leaves; stories incubated before the crackle of an open-hearth fireplace
while the snow buries the world outside.
Osiail Publishing was conceived when co-founder Phil McGrail
decided to write a bedtime story for his daughter. As the weeks and months
passed, the bedtime story blossomed into a full-length novel. When the
first draft was done, Phil contact high-school friend Josiah Eikelboom
and asked him to do a cursory edit of the book. The idea was to get the
book edited then simply print off a couple POD copies.
But Josiah had other ideas. He saw potential in the book.
He suggested that Phil try to get the book published. However, during
the process of putting the book together, Phil and Josiah realized they
really enjoyed the book-making process. They decided to start Osiail Publishing,
publish the book, then help others transform their stories into books.
Osial Publishing is now in its second year of business.
More authors are signing on with Osiail. More people are attending the
Primal Tongue reading nights, and experiencing the local literary flavor.
Osiail now has national distribution through Atlasbooks.
There are a lot of publishers out there, all of different
sizes and styles. Osiail Publishing is slowly, yet systematically, building
up its foundations, treating artist, authors, customers, and vendors like
actual human beings, and continuing to publish books to enthrall their
readers.
